Tumblr.com is by far one of my favorite sites right now. It's a microblog where you can post interesting things you find around the internet. I mostly use mine to post pictures. It's a good way for me to grab things I think are interesting and that inspire me to do different projects. Before I had been saving things on a Photobucket account which worked ok but wasn't as convenient as having a Tumbleblog. Now when I see something I like I just click my little bookmarklet and it's saved for me to look at later. I use it almost everyday which is way more regularly than I would blog normally. I love following other people on the site as well. It's where I find some of my favorite images and quotes. It really helps spark creativity, it's like a never ending sea of ideas.

A Valentiny for the young at Heart
Absolutely one of my fondest memories of grade school was the Valentine's Party each year. Surely the reason I loved it so was due to the fact that we could create our own valentine box to stuff the tiny treasures inside. The valentines always had a sweet but corny saying. As silly as they were, they were always worth saving.
I have been working on a collection of valentines with the same corny sentiment and style that brings a blast from the past to some and a fresh new style to their kids. Here are a few of the Valentiny Cards. You can find the whole collection if you go to my Pink&Hank Etsy shop.

Inspiring me now...
Junko Mizuno is one of my favorite Japanese artist. Her style has been described as kawaii noir because it mixes elements of storybook cuteness with a bit of gore. I love the juxtaposition of sweetness with something a little sinister. It makes everything much more interesting. Her stuff reminds me of Peter Max with some Japanese flair mixed in. She has re-written three stories into what are called "fractured fairytales", Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, and Hansel and Gretal. They stray a bit from the original stories because she puts her own really cool spin on them. I hope you enjoy her work as much as I do.

Introductions
I supposed I should introduce myself a little in my first post. Let's see...my name is Cassandra, I just turned 20, I love Alice in Wonderland, I'm kind of a geek, I'm constantly listening to music (add me on last.fm!!), I almost always carry bubbles around with me in my purse (you never know when a bubble blowing opportunity will present itself), I also almost always have a camera with me, I collect teapots, Halloween is my favorite holiday, followed by Easter (because I love bunnies and want to have one as a pet someday), I'm sick fairly often (I'll probably write more about that in another post), I have three kitties (Cosmo, Neko, and Buzz), and a puppy (Kasey), I really like alternative 90s stuff (especially riot grrrl), my favorite flowers are lilies, I take too many bubble baths, my hair has been tons of different colors (brown, black, blue, pink, purple, natural red, and unatural red), I'm almost always cold even in the summer, I love old movies (especially Fred Astair and Ginger Rogers movies, Oh! and Marx Brothers movies!), I'm noturnal but I try my best to stay on a "normal schedule", I love Cherry Coke...that's all I can think of for now.
Onward!!
This blog is basically going to be a place for me to talk about different crafty projects I'm working on and a way for me to share them when they're completed. I'll also post about things that are inspiring me at the moment or just about things that interest me. I'm not sure how the format is going to work but I figure the best way is to just start writing and see what happens. Please bear with me while I figure out all the different features blogger has. I haven't quite worked out how to do everything.
If you read this whole rambley mess thank you!
