Big things @ Dec

Yay!  December is here.  And I am over the moon.  *wink*

There are 3 big news that I would like to share with you.

Firstly is that I would be officially taking up my new job description, i.e. a "full time mother" end of this month.  Meaning I would be staying at home and looking after the household.  Big responsibilities for me.  Meantime this mummy does not have any charges to take care of.  Lol!

Second big thing is that there will be a Christmas gathering with my ex-colleagues.  From my very first company.  All have left the company and two are residing overseas.  But they will be coming back for this rare gathering this December and I am offering my house as a venue.  My very first gathering and dinner in my house, so I am pretty excited about it.  The date is either 26 or 27 December evening.  It would be a potluck but I have yet to decide on my menu.

Last is school preparation for my kids.  The eldest is going to Primary One while the younger one is attending Pre-1 next year.  So we would be hunting for school uniforms, white school shoes, stationery and other stuff for the kids especially the eldest.  Excited for both but I wonder which one I would need to attend to on first day in school?  I think I will accompany Baby Jay to his kinddy while hubby takes on the girl.  At least he understands Chinese better.

So, it would be another busy month for me.

A Miele Vacuum Billboard Tunnel That Wasn't Really There

A Billboard went up to promote a Miele vacuum, but the billboard was nonexistent.

The task was to promote the “monster suction” of the extra powerful Miele S8 vacuum cleaner. They created an online video that shows how the machine can vacuum absolutely everything.

A well-known tunnel in Slovakia was turned into a pipe of the Miele S8. The pipe indeed vacuumed everything – even cars and trucks.

6 Disabled Squatters Preform "Our House" To Raise Awareness For Inclusie Invest

In Belgium, about 5.000 disabled people are on a waiting list for a disabled-friendly house. To make the public aware of that acute housing shortage, 6 disabled people decided to squat an old mansion in Brussels. Their motto? You can’t live on a waiting list. Inclusie Invest, a non-profit cooperative society, organizes such housing projects. To make people aware of Inclusie Invest and the housing shortage, 6 disabled squatters also recorded their own version of Madness’ well-known hit Our House. The breath-taking video clip, performed by 1 blind, 3 people with Down syndrome and 2 wheelchair patients, was directed by Guy Goossens. The street of the squatted house was also recreated online on kraakmee.be. People who like the campaign can squat along virtually, letting the house grow and grow.

Aksel Lund Svindal "Beyond Reason" Joins Team Oakley

Four-time World Champion, Olympic gold medalist and a two-time overall World Cup Champion, Askel Lund Svindal joins Team Oakley. A nicely shot ad entitled "Beyond Reason" tells the story of Aksel on how his life is all about chasing the snow and skiing.

Norwegian alpine ski champ, Aksel Lund Svindal is a force to be reckoned with. You can find Aksel flying down some the world’s quickest hills at the most insane speeds imaginable. He blows through gates with precision and power, while blazing down the mountain in lightning fast times. Born to a ski family, Svindal quickly refined his craft and rose to the top of the sport. He’s remained there throughout his remarkably successful career, finishing in the top four in World Cup rankings every year since 2006. Svindal is not only a savvy skier. He knows what he’s talking about when it comes to business, marketing, product and sponsorships. That’s why it made even more sense for him to join the Oakley team.

Music was composed and arranged specifically for this commercial by German Wahnsinn.

Do you cam-whoring?

I have a confession to make here.  I think I have new addiction!  Cam-whoring.

It means "To take pictures of either you or/and with your friends execessively".  And sometimes I think I were over-doing it too.  Lol!

When I was younger. I loved to take photographs, either I were the subject or behind the lens.  After I have kids, my kids are my models.  I seldom take pictures of myself since then.

And I think my addiction came back after I got my new Samsung Galaxy III few months ago. Cam-whoring is so much easier with Samsung Galaxy and I enjoyed taking photographs with it.  Some more my kids are not around lately, so I have no one to take pictures, ended up I take pictures of myself.  But don't fret.  I only take when I am in full clothing.  *wink*

Have a great weekend guys!  So look forward to the month of December.  December, the month of joy!

Japan Airlines and Kentucky Fried Chicken have collaborated on the 7th installment of the popular AIR SERIES in-flight meal on board select international JAL flights, and will be serving on board, [AIR KENTUCKY FRIED CHICKEN] from December 1, 2012 to February 28, 2013.

During this period, customers traveling in Premium Economy and Economy Class on JAL from Narita to New York, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Diego*, London, Paris and Frankfurt, will be served KFC’s Original Recipe two-piece chicken meal during the second meal service. A soft touch for the season

Call it a sneak peek or a spoiler, but this is a sweet peek at a new collection I am working on with Lettering Delights. I had such fun working on design and decor ideas for the Cut Flowers collection we did last spring. It just seems the natural next step to have a Cut Flowers Holiday collection for crafters to create with as the season approaches.
This collection will include the traditional floral and evergreen icons, all from nature brought to paper.
The rich reds and pinks of poinsettias, the greenery of holly and mistletoe, the natural texture of pine cones, and the crispness of paper whites will come together this season as little works of art.

I will be sharing ideas for gift giving, card designing and holiday decorating. I will also share tips and trick for papercrafting specific to this collection.

The collection won’t be ready for a few more weeks, but start thinking of your own creative uses for this new sequel to Cut Flowers, the holiday collection.

I will let you know when the collection has changed from a sweet peek to a Friday favorite on Lettering Delights. Prepared to be spoiled!

Christmas Tree Bento

I'll take one Christmas Tree... to go please ;)

Eliana and I have been waiting to break out the Christmas gear! I strictly do not do anything Christmas until Thanksgiving is over. I sometimes feel like Thanksgiving gets jipped! After Halloween the stores start to put up Christmas decorations and it can be easy to pass over Thanksgiving. So after our Thanksgiving we helped 'Buelo and 'Buela put up their Christmas Tree so while we made this lunch we were thinking of their tree :) Together we made this simple Christmas Tree bento in our EasyLunchboxes.

In the main compartment she had a Christmas tree sandwich, all pieces cut with a Christmas tree cookie cutter. She chose a ham and cheese sandwich on wheat bread and on top I put a spinach tortilla for the tree.  The Christmas "lights" are red bell pepper, carrots and yellow bell pepper.  The staris cheddar cheese. You can easily "glue" the pieces down with a touch of honey :)

In the upper left compartment Eliana had some vanilla yogurt in a mini-dipper with Christmas Tree sprinkles. The mini dipper is sitting in a silicone cup.

In the bottom left compartment are some cucumber Christmas Trees cut with a mini cutter, sitting on top of cucumber scraps.

Eliana was so happy to help and she loved this lunch! She actually asked for more yogurt so next time I need to double the serving :)

Our bento was inspired by our Christmas Tree Lunch from last year:
