Summer can be wonderfully romantic season. It's the perfect time to relax and have fun. Try to remember all the things you used to love to do as a kid on summer vacation, most of them make for amazing date ideas.
- Draw love notes and pictures in chalk. If you want you can do it as a surprise for your partner.
- Go berry picking then make something delicious with your berries.
- Have a water gun or water balloon fight. You can combine this with giving your car a much needed scrub down.
- Make homemade ice cream. It's really easy, here's how.
- Watch fireworks together on The 4th of July.
- Blow bubbles.
- Go to the park and play. There's tons to do there (play frisbee, fly a kite, swing, or just go for a walk.)
- Pick wildflowers.
- Plan a picnic together. Make your favorite foods to bring with you. It doesn't need to be super fancy, simple sandwiches work just fine. If you want to make them feel a little more special take cookie cutters and cut them into cute shapes.
- Star gaze and wish on the shooting stars you see.
- Eat watermelon together, and don't worry about getting messy, that's half the fun.
- Watch the fireflies together. You can even participate in a scientific study just by counting how many you see and reporting it to Firefly Watch.
- Make your own lemonade (or limeade). Add different flavors like strawberry and then give your special mix it's own name.
- Fill a beach ball with a small amount of sand. When you throw it the sand will make it fly in tons of directions. They're fun to chase.
- Go to any fairs your town has and ride the ferris wheel (don't forget to kiss when you get to the top!)
