The first of pages in our adventure book feature strawberries (one of my boyfriend's favorites). If we get a chance I'd love for my boyfriend and I to go berry picking but if that doesn't work out we can always get some berries from a farmer's market or the grocery store. I wrote ideas in the clouds on the right page of what we could make with them. We both love to bake and cook so it's a great way to spend time together.
Here's are some ideas for a romantic strawberry filled Summer:
- As I mentioned before, berry picking can be a fun and romantic way to spend an afternoon. (This site has a big list of pick-your-own farms if you want to find one in your area.)
- Surprise your partner with a berry treat.
- Or better yet, make something together. (My suggestion above are: cupcakes, salad, pancakes, pies, smoothies, tarts, cake, jam, muffins, and ice cream.) There are tons of fun and unique things you can do with strawberries (try this site and this one for some inspiration.)
- Cut the strawberries into hearts or other pretty shapes. (Check out this tutorial to show you how.)
- Make some chocolate fondue and have chocolate dipped strawberries. (For more fondue ideas check out my 2010 Valentine's Day post)
